Club News - November 2011

Not sure why but only a few showed up to play in the Stableford comp on Saturday 22nd October but despite the small field some great golf was played. Shelia Young wining the day with a very good score of 41points, John Innes was second scoring 37 points and Suzanne Greer finished third with 36. Morning drizzle met us as we teed off for the October Medal round on Saturday 29th and despite the cool weather Mike Hinton and Norris Ingrisch were running hot. Mike won the medal having a Nett 65, Norris was second with a Nett 67 and Ron Bower finished third scoring a Nett 71. Suzanne Greer was back in form for 5 November Stableford comp winning the day with 37 points. The rest of the field found the going tough and Barry Young, good to see you back from America for a while Barry, finished second with 31 points and Peter Dumbrell was third with 30. Saturday 12th November was a team day playing an Ambrose completion. The partnership of John Innes and Sheila Young had a comfortable win with a Nett 61.5 with second place going to the team of John Rose, Gordon Thomson and Barrie Young having a Nett 63.67. Phil and Chris Gane were third scoring a Nett 68.5. Gordon Thomson was on fire for the Stableford comp on Saturday 19th November with an outstanding score of 46 points. If you had a score like that in a 2 ball comp you would think you had done well. Congratulations Gordon. Needless to say, he won by a mile. Rick Donaldson was second, with 37 points, beating Dinny Mandalis on a countback

I wish you all a happy Christmas and a great 2012.
