Talented Chef “Jo Maguire” returns to Kangaroo Valley!

YES the rumours are true!  Jo Maguire has returned to Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country Resort.

Jo Maguire began her career at in Kangaroo Valley before starting an apprenticeship at the “Baker & the Bunyip”, a French restaurant of exceptional quality in Berry.  From there Jo moved to the Park Hyatt, a 5 star hotel in Sydney and gained a wealth of experience and knowledge.  Jo’s clientele included the who’s who of Sydney’s social scene as well as international guests like the Sultan of Brunei and Elle Macpherson to mention but a few.  Upon completion of her apprenticeship Jo could have chosen from an array of international restaurants and hotels, but her love for all things Australian saw her seek out unique travel experiences throughout Australia.

Jo started her Australian travel adventure with a few snow seasons in Thredbo before heading to the desert and Alice Springs.  There Jo experienced outback life in every facet and at one stage found herself working on a million acre Brahman cattle station and was immersed in all aspects of farm life.  From mustering and branding to feeding “fly in celebrities” like Lee Kernaghan & Dick Smith to a dinner of home grown beef or Kangaroo accompanied by fresh produce from her garden.

Jo’s passion is sourcing and utilizing locally grown produce, and is very excited to learn of all the fantastic new food and wine developments with in the region and of course, putting this fabulous produce to good use.
